The Esoterics was formed in January 2012 by Hunter Braun (Guitar / Keyboards / Vox), John Miller (Bass / Backing Vox), & Brian Smith (Drums). The three had years earlier cut their teeth in Des Moines under another name, opening for local acts such as General Sherman, The Dig Angees, Christopher the Conquered, & The Envy Corps.
